RESOLUTIONS OF THE 65TH MEETING OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (NEC) OF THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) JUNE 5, 2014.
The 654th meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held on the 5th of June 2014 at the National Secretariat of the Party.
The meeting was attended by the President, Vice President, Members of the National Assembly, PDP State Governors and other members of the National Executive Committee.
The meeting considered various national issues and arrived at the following resolutions:
- NEC considered and adopted corrections to errors noticed in the 2012 amended constitution of the party. NEC effected all corrections accordingly and in consistent with the motion of amendment moved and carried at the 2012 national convention.
- NEC also debated on the proposal to hold the PDP National Conference according to the provisions of the constitution of the PDP and resolved to hold it after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
- NEC passed a unanimous vote of confidence on the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR in his excellent handling of the security situation in the country. NEC noted that the current security siege on the nation is calculated to distract the President and intimidate him as he strives to transform the country. NEC therefore called on party members and Nigerians to remain vigilant and steadfast in their assistance to security agencies to defeat this alien scourge on our nation.
