Oghenekome Ogidi – National Vice Chairman, South South
Emmanuel Oghenekome Ogidi, who was born in Port Harcourt on 28th May 1956 hails from Isoko North in Delta State of Nigeria.
After graduating from St. Patrick Primary School, Sapele in 1967, he enrolled in St. Malachy’s Secondary School, Sapele for his Secondary education, in 1968.
He concluded his Secondary education in Hussey College, Warri in 1972, excelling in his West African School Certificate (WASC).
For his tertiary education, Mr. Ogidi attended Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt between 1976 to 1981, and graduated in flying colours with a Higher National Diploma in Marketing.
For his working experience, he worked both in the public and private sector.
First as a school teacher under the then Bendel Education Board in Warri between 1973 to 1976, then as an audit clerk to Port Harcourt, Refinery between 1977 to 1978.
His working experience led him to work both for the Rivers State and Delta State governments in various capacities, between 1983 to 2016.
Among the exalted positions, Mr. Ogidi held was as a board member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) between 2009 to 2011, representing Delta State.
Mr. Ogidi is a key stakeholder in the politics of Delta State, where he served as the State Chairman of PDP between 2005 to 2008 as well as National Vice Chairman, PDP, South South in 2016.
Mr. Ogidi is happily married with children.
He was elected as National Vice Chairman, South South at the PDP National Convention held in Abuja on December 2017.
