Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, National Secretary, PDP
Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri was born in Tsauri Village in the present day Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
After his primary education, he proceeded to Katsina Teachers College, where he passed out with Teachers Grade II Certificate.
After teaching as a pupil’s teacher for one year, he proceeded to the Advanced Teacher’s College, Kano, where he obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
Senator Tsauri, also proceeded to the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, where he passed out with Bachelor of Education.
In politics, Senator Tsauri’s activities traversed various political parties, serving as Sole Administrator in his Local Government under the National Party of Nigeria, (NPN) in the second republic as well as National Executive member of the Party and under whose platform he was elected into the House of Representatives.
He was a member of the defunct United Nigeria Peoples Congress (UNPC) under whose platform, he was elected into the Senate.
Under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he was a very active member in Katsina State as well as at the National Level, before he was elected into the Senate from Katsina State.
With this wealth of experience, Senator Tsauri, CON, was elected as the National Secretary of the PDP in its last National Convention held in Abuja in December, 2017.
